太鼓を打つことに己の人生をかけ、佐渡島という離島に渡る。
便利とはいえないけれど、厳しい自然や豊穣な文化に包まれた島で、生活し・創造活動の日々を送る若者たち。
悩み、試行錯誤し、挑戦する日々の中、ひたすら太鼓と向かい合い、「音」を研ぎ澄ましていく。
全ては太鼓を打つために。
その一打一打より奏でられる「音」は、人々の生きる力を鼓舞する

Every Kodo member has more than just taiko playing in common.
Each and every one of us followed our heart to a remote place where we could devote ourselves to playing taiko: Sado Island. Young and headstrong, we left convenience and familiarity behind us to dive headfirst into relentless training and a communal rural lifestyle.
We came to Sado to focus on living, learning, and creating, surrounded by nature and rich culture.
We stayed to further Kodo’s mission.

We give our absolute all to playing the drums, always striving to create better sound.
Sound that moves people like never before. It’s a never-ending pursuit.
An insatiable quest.
This is our calling.
